Condolence & Memory Journal

Wow, I found myself thinking of my dear friend from so long ago and decided to google his name. I definitely did not expect to find this... I am deeply saddened by the news of his passing. I worked with Jason at the Sheraton Brookhollow and had some of my best times there with him. I was a sales and catering assistant who spent way too much time in the kitchen because he was just "Oh soooooo cute!!!" I can't believe he is gone. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, whom he loved VERY much!! I'll never forget the crazy times we had Jason. They were so much fun!! I know your up there cookin for Jesus and tasting every delicious dish ever made. Save me a spot at your table buddy!

After every meal Jason cooked for me he always was thinking of the next meal to make! He loved to eat and he loved to cook. Whenever the Dr blew his ulcer off in his mouth back in 2010 claiming it was from grinding his teeth,, I showed him in my Anatomy and Physiology book that he needed to get a second opinion. He told me that he didn't want to know if it was cancer. I can't believe it took his life. My heart goes out to his parents and brothers for the loss of such a sweet man. I wish I would've made him go to the Dr again so he could still be here. I know that he is in heaven smiling down on all of us :)

Jason was an awesome person it hurts to think about him passing. He was always real nice to me when he was my boss at minute maid. One day I was washing potatoes out of the case and the other cooks started yelling at me telling me I was stupid that they were already clean. Jason could tell I was frustrated and he didn't have to but talked to me for a bit and made me feel better. He was a real nice guy and I miss him.

My condolences to Jason's family!

I shared many years with Jason at the Sheraton Brookhollow. He was always up to making my craziest culinary ideas a reality. Jason was extremely talented!

On a personal note Jason was very sweet, thoughtful and had a HUGE heart! There are so many funny stories I could share for hours.....he was always making everyone smile and laugh. He will be dearly missed!

Dearest Miyamoto Family,

My thoughts and prayers are with you. Even though I lost contact with him after high school, I will still remember his smile and laid back attitude. He will be missed.

When I began cooking so many years ago, Jason was my first teacher. He taught me technique and attention to detail, but also, as was so natural to him, he taugh me to have fun, and enjoy the process. We were a close group of friends back then at the Sheraton Brookhollow and even though we lost touch as I moved away for work, I always looked forward to the chance to come back to Houston and see Jason and the rest of our gang. Jason will be greatly missed by me and many others and my prayers go out to him and the Miyamoto family.

I am so very sorry Miyamoto family. I didn't know Jason personally but I have known Chris since we were so little. If Jason is like Chris, which I'm sure he is) then he will be greatly missed by us here on earth, but heaven is rejoicing now cause they have received another angel. Love to all the family and know how sorry I am Chris

My thoughts and prayers are with the Miyamoto family at this time. Thank you for raising such a wonderful son and brother. Jason touched many people's lives. He always put a smile on all of our faces. We loved him very much. I feel so fortunate to have known him. He was a good, good man. He was my "little buddy". Fond Memories: giving him ice trays because when I went over there, there was no ice for our cocktails/ him calling me to come look at the blue square he painted on his wall to make sure it looked okay/ him having a dance-off at our friend's birthday party/ his singing along to songs on the radio while we were out/ what a hard-worker he was...no matter how late we were all up the night before, he was always at work early the next morning working hard/ how sweet his heart was...he was so kind and loving. My heart is aching. He will truly be missed. Heaven has just received a sweet angel.

It is with great sadness I write this. I know the last several months have been exhausting and his kind family has been his rock. I will always remember Jason as a witty soul with a smile that lights up the room. Heaven has definitely gained and angel and his crown must look so beautiful. There is comfort in knowing that his pain is put to rest. My deepest condolences, thoughts, prayers, tears and cyber-hugs are with his amazing family.

Warm Regards,
Brook Knox
