Dell Thomas Lacefield, born November 19, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky to Clarence and Marie Lacefield, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 in Houston, Texas.

Dell is survived by his spouse, Sherry Lacefield; daughters, Lauren Lewis and husband Scott; Michelle Hobbs and husband Robert of Houston, Texas; Ann Marie Lacefield of Houston, Texas; and his grand-daughter, Emily Lewis of Austin, Texas.

Dell worked as a criminal defense attorney in Houston with long-time friend and law partner Denise Thrash. Prior to entering law school, he was a CPA for Ernst and Ernst and opened his own CPA firm.

A devout Catholic, he served as a volunteer financial advisor to the Dominican order in Houston. He was proud to have served on the board of numerous United Way agencies including the Visiting Nurse Association, Depelchin Faith Home and Houston Child Guidance. He served in the Army Reserves and held the rank of 1st Lieutenant. He had especially fond memories of this time in his life and the men in his unit.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Joseph J. Earthman Generations, 234 Westcott, Houston, Texas 77007.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Dr., Houston, Texas 77024.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Scott Lewis, Robert Hobbs, Warren Thibeaux, Paul Roland, Marc Roland, and David Roland.

Immediate family will attend the Rite of Committal at Restwood Memorial Park in Clute, Texas.
